Your Clubcard data can help Ovarian Cancer Research

  • 1.

Recruiting all women with a diagnosis of ovarian cancer in the last ten years with a Tesco Clubcard.

  • 2.

Did you shop at Tesco and use your Tesco Clubcard before being diagnosed with ovarian cancer?

  • 3.

Would you be willing to share your Tesco Clubcard data with us?

Tesco’s new data sharing function makes it easy and quick to share, and we will remove personal identifying information (your name, address, phone number, store location) from the data before storing it securely for our research.

Building on our previous research

We are investigating the relationship between women with ovarian cancer who have been misdiagnosed, and shopping for healthcare products.

Our previous survey study showed that the women with ovarian cancer who self-medicate using over-the-counter products were seven times more likely to wait longer than a year for an accurate diagnosis, if their decision to self-medicate was made due to advice from a GP rather than independently.

If Tesco Clubcard data confirms the findings from our survey study it would provide evidence to invest in the development of guidelines and diagnostic tools for doctors, healthcare professionals and pharmacists concerning self-medication.

Your anonymized data can help us achieve this!
